EPA Announces Additional $1.9 Billion in State Revolving Loan Funds for Water Infrastructure Upgrades

Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced $1.9 billion in grant funding to the State Revolving Funds to accelerate progress on water infrastructure projects. Combined with historic investments through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this funding will help states, Tribes, and territories upgrade water infrastructure to provide safe drinking water, protect vital water resources, and create thousands of new jobs in communities across the country.

Construction Begins on New Membrane Filtration Reverse Osmosis Treatment Facility

Construction of Escondido’s $65 million Membrane Filtration Reverse Osmosis Facility for Agriculture commenced recently, marking a milestone in the City’s goal of providing agriculture growers a high-quality irrigation supply and easing the burden on its wastewater infrastructure.

Rainbow MWD Awards North River Road Land Outfall Rehabilitation Contract

The Rainbow Municipal Water District will be rehabilitating its North River Road Land Outfall pipeline, and Hoch Consulting will be preparing the bidding documents and providing engineering support to the Rainbow district.

A 5-0 Rainbow board vote, June 23, approved a $151,180 contract with Hoch Consulting, which is headquartered in San Diego. The contract does not have a specific end period, although construction is anticipated to begin in early 2021 and take approximately eight weeks.

“It’s an important project to maintain a critical part of our wastewater infrastructure,” Tom Kennedy, Rainbow general manager, said.
