Water Still ‘Taste, Smell Like Dirt?’ City of San Diego Says Issues Should Be Gone Soon

City of San Diego residents reached out to us two weeks ago saying their water “tastes like dirt.”

CBS 8 worked to get an answer from the city. We were told the change in the water’s taste and smell was expected to be gone within a few days.

Residents in North Park said their water is still tasting and smelling strange.

Neighbors in North Park Frustrated by Standing Water With No Drainage

People in North Park reached out to CBS 8 about a standing water issue on their street. They say the puddles of water collect mosquitoes and carry a foul odor. CBS 8’s Brian White paid a visit to the 4300 block of 34th Street to talk with neighbors and get to the bottom of it.

“It’s an ongoing issue with mosquitoes, the smell, the eye sore looking at it,” said Page Carman. “It’s horrid.”

Neighbors Upset With Water Main Breaks in North Park

People in North Park say they’re fed up with rushing water and flood damage from recent water main breaks. There have been at least four major water main breaks, since 2017, in the same area.
