Robinson Tank “R” Project Completed

On November 8, 2022, the Ramona Municipal Water District Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution renaming Improvement District No. 5 (ID-5) tank to Robinson Tank to recognize retiring Director Jim Robinson’s 20-year service to the community. Director Robinson served on the water board from 1994 to 2010 and from 2018 to 2022.

He added his foresight and timely advice to numerous RMWD committees including those to improve the District’s engineering processes, the District’s responses to future with lessons learned from the Witch Creek Fire and planning and improvements for Santa Maria Recycled Water Plant. He was instrumental in the development of Ramona Parks and Recreation Association, Wellfield Community Park, and Ramona Junior Fairgrounds.

Ramona Water District Director Jim Robinson Recognized for 20 Years of Service

One of the Ramona Municipal Water District water tanks is getting a new name to honor Director Jim Robinson, who helped nurture a community park and the fairgrounds. The ID-5 water tank off Old Julian Highway between downtown Ramona and San Diego Country Estates is now known as the “Robinson Tank.”

Water District Elects Officers, Approves Million-Dollar Contracts

A new slate of officers were ushered in to the Ramona Municipal Water District (RMWD) Jan. 14 just before its board of directors approved two construction contracts estimated to cost more than $1 million apiece.

RMWD Board President Jim Robinson was an easy choice to serve a second term as the board’s president. He quickly received unanimous support among the four directors present, with Vice President Jim Hickle absent.
