The San Vicente Dam Raise Project has secured the 5th International Commission on Large Dams International Milestone Award for Roller Compacted Concrete Dam, the San Diego County Water Authority has announced.
The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded more than $3 million in grants to three San Diego County tribes to build and upgrade their solid waste and recycling infrastructure.
The San Diego County Water Authority this week received a prestigious international engineering award for using an innovative construction technology to raise the historic San Vicente Dam – a project that helps ensure regional water security for generations to come.
Tens of thousands of South Bay residents will pay more for water next year. The Sweetwater Authority approved a .5% rate hike beginning Jan. 1 and another 6% hike the following year. By 2026, rates could go up another 6.5%, according to the agency.
